Privacy policy
Last updated: August 16, 2026
Grandstand Sports is built to be fast and personal without being invasive. This page explains what data the app touches, why, and what we never do with it.
What we collect
- Your preferences. The teams, leagues, and players you follow, plus your theme and notification settings. These power the For You feed and your briefs.
- A push token. If you turn on notifications or live activities, Apple issues your device an anonymous push token that we use to deliver scores and updates. It doesn't identify you personally.
- Anonymous usage analytics. The app records anonymized usage events — things like which screens get opened — under a random identifier that isn't tied to your name, email, or Apple ID. We use two analytics services, Aptabase and Amplitude, to make sense of them. You can turn this off in the app's settings; the only events recorded regardless are things you explicitly send us, like feedback and survey answers.
- Basic diagnostics. Crash and performance reports come through Apple's built-in reporting, which you control in iOS Settings and which doesn't identify you to us.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. To anyone, for anything.
- We don't show targeted advertising or use ad-tracking SDKs.
- We don't ask for your contacts, location, or microphone — and we never get access to your photo library. If you use the bet slip scanner, Apple's photo picker hands the app only the single image you choose, and it's read entirely on your device.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Where your data lives
Your preferences are stored on your device and synced via iCloud to your other devices. Our servers store the push token and the subscriptions needed to send you the notifications you asked for, plus anything you choose to send us — feedback, ideas, and survey answers.
Third parties
- Sports data. Scores, schedules, stats, and betting lines come from licensed data providers. Your personal information is not shared with them.
- Analytics. Anonymized usage events go to Aptabase and Amplitude, as described above. Neither receives your name, contact details, or the content of what you type in the app.
- Apple. Notifications are delivered through the Apple Push Notification service. Purchases, if any, are processed by Apple — we never see your payment details.
Your choices
- Notifications and live activities are entirely opt-in and can be turned off any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
- Deleting the app removes your on-device data. To have server-side data removed, contact us and we'll take care of it.
Children
Grandstand is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and note the new date at the top.
